This Brookdale Family Care Center is unique in that it is a cooperative venture with Urban Strategies, a well-respected community-based agency. Opened in October 1996, the center can handle 35,000 visits from the East New York/Brownsville area.
This Brookdale Family Care Center (BFCC) provides:
- Adult internal medicine.
- Family practice
- Free pregnancy testing
- HIV counseling and testing
- Obstetric/gynecologic care (including breast exams and pap smears).
- Pediatric care (including well-baby and immunizations).
- Podiatric (foot) care.
Like all Brookdale Family Care Centers, this one is organized like a private physician's office, with patients calling for appointments and seeing the same doctor each time. There are accommodations for walk-in, non-emergencies, and 24-hour phone coverage.
All patients enrolled in the Brookdale Family Care Centers have access to the specialty services at The Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. |
