The Department of Anatomical Pathology is staffed by five full-time Board-Certified Pathologists and is accredited by the College of American Pathologists. Consultants in neuropathology, oral pathology, and pulmonary pathology actively participate in departmental activities.
The department includes active surgical pathology, and cytopathology.
The Clinical Laboratories at Brookdale make up a highly automated, high-volume full-service facility providing 24-hour coverage every day of the year.
The clinical laboratory serves the main hospital, the affiliated nursing homes, the extended family care centers as well as physician offices in the surrounding community. All clinical areas are linked by computer for immediate access to patient’s results.
Our mission is to provide rapid access to accurate laboratory data to assist in the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of our patients. A further goal is to educate our clinical staff, technical staff, and students about advances in laboratory medicine enabling our patients to benefit from our collective expertise.
