The Department of Pharmacy provides the highest quality pharmaceutical care and other pharmaceutical services to its patients. It was one of the first to provide decentralized clinical services to patients and was a leader in implementing unit dose distribution, clinical monitoring of drug therapy, a full drug information library, a staff development program and sterile intravenous solution preparation.
The administrative pharmacy personnel works on many levels to assist in developing and maintaining excellent pharmacy practice.
The four major functions of the pharmacy are as follows; Drug Acquisition and Distribution, Drug Information and Education, Drug Monitoring and Clinical Consultation, Drug Research.
Brookdale Rx, The Department of Pharmacy’s retails pharmacy, has opened in the main lobby for the patient’s convenience. After discharge, either from the Emergency Department, Ambulatory Surgery, Ambulatory Care specialty clinics or in-patient facilities, doctors’ prescriptions may be filled in the retail pharmacy eliminating the needless delays. |
