Radiation Oncology

Chairman / Marvin Rotman, MD, FACR

The Department of Radiation Oncology provides optimal clinical care for oncology patients requiring radiation therapy, and facilitates the acquisition and use of knowledge from a multi-disciplinary perspective in the management of cancer patients. The goal is to maximize favorable patient care outcomes.

To a greater extent than most medical disciplines, radiation oncology is a team effort that depends upon other medical and allied disciplines to render appropriate patient care, as well as to teach and conduct research. In recognition of this multi-disciplinary necessity, the department is staffed by board-certified radiation oncologists, certified physicists, licensed nurses and licensed radiation therapy technologists.

Members of the department are always available for consultation with house officers and other hospital personnel. Radiation oncologists participate in multi-disciplinary conferences to discuss therapeutic strategies. Elective rotations in radiation oncology are available by arrangement with the chairman of the department .
