The department now has a 1.5 high-field strength MRI system and two high-speed spiral CT scanners among its recently acquired technology. The department has also recently acquired an IDX-RAD Radiology Information System that is interfaced to an RTAS Digital Dictation System for timely management of patient scheduling, film tracking and report accessibility with hard copy, as well as computer terminal availability of radiology reports at all HIS terminals linked to this system.
The Division of Nuclear Medicine performs the full spectrum of clinical studies, including both static and dynamic scans and the complete range of nuclear cardiac examinations. These studies are performed with state-of-the-art imaging equipment, including three SPECT imaging cameras, one of which is a dual-headed camera. Highly sophisticated medical computers are networked to all imaging equipment within this section, as well as throughout the department. |
